How to Maintain Your Cat Urinary Health to Prevent Cat Urinary Tract Blockage

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Cat urinary tract blockage mainly comes from a) cats fed an unhealthy over-processed diet and b) feeding too much food.

The risk factors are;

1. Cats two to five years old have a higher incidence of a cat urinary tract blockage
2. Male and neutered male cats
3. Diet of dry food with not enough liquid or moisture
4. Obesity

These risk factors do not affect all cats the same. In general cats can tolerate dry diets with no urinary problems. However, most urinary problems can be traced to nutritional issues with the cat’s diet. Felines ages ago only ate raw meat and grasses in the wild obtaining all the vitamins and nutrients they needed. Today’s diet much like our human diet is composed of over processed cereal fillers not meant to be digested by a domesticated cat.

The result of this over processed diet is cat urinary tract blockage which is a direct result of unbalanced urine pH. Widely available through pet supply stores are raw meat diets and prescription diet products which help stabilize urine pH. Only small bladder stones can be treated with a diet; larger stones have to be surgically removed and then introduce the correct diet in hopes of preventing any further stones from forming.

Another option to promote cat urinary health is the use of homeopathic products specifically designed to protect and promote cat urinary health. These alternative products can be added on a daily basis which can help the immune system fight any formation of stones and keep the urinary system at optimum health.

My Strange Metaphor For Knowledge

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Picture this:

A large spider in Clozapine centre of an even larger, robust web, glittering with dew drops in the morning sunlight. Each of the spiders 8 legs, Select Quote life insurance actually home owners insurance finely honed tuning fork. Each tuning fork is pitched at a different tone. The spider pings a thread within the web with a particular tuning fork. It’s just a quick flick. The tone travels out along the interwoven threads of the web and the dew drops bounce and swerve, dance and glitter as the vibrational energy of the sound and the physical shove on their silken wire mobilizes them.

The dew drops slide and gather together to form new dew drops, larger or smaller than their original size. Some drops drip right off the web and onto the plant matter below, forever disconnected from the song the spider plays at will overhead. It doesn’t matter. The dew drops that fall down will feed the life that will in turn eventually support the spider in its quest.

The Spider is Knowledge.

The web is the vast human connected world that receives, responds and supplies Knowledge.

This is connectivism in action.

Does this mean that Knowledge is at the hub of things? Does this mean that Knowledge is implied as some kind of Entity outside of usual and common human interaction?

Yes and No!

Spiders are living things. So is Knowledge. It moves, grows, changes, gives birth to and dies just as any living thing does. Knowledge isn’t static.

But it does have tuning forks for legs!

Every nuanced move of Knowledge’s leg is a beautifully and carefully orchestrated pitch on a particular scale sent to achieve a particular and carefully orchestrated end. Knowledge loves to feed and it is gluttonous and greedy but also patient and resilient. It pitches for more of what it wants and it usually gets it - for the web is an attractive rather sticky thing. It brings things to it that makes the spider grow and get fat.

Tuning forks have a function. They provide a perfect pitch. A sound. In order to produce that sound, one must tap at the fork so it resonates.

ALL KNOWLEDGE RESONATES. In order to make Knowledge resonate, you need to tap the tuning fork. That’s all it takes. A simple tap and the sound and the vibration will do the rest.

This is what both attracts things to the spider and what the spider imparts outwards.

Maybe its a bad metaphor. But to me it’s more ecologically quantifiable than pipes!

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Affiliate marketing is a great business model and the people earning a living and making a fortune from it is growing by the day. Just acknowledge the power and reach of the Internet, millions of people can see your ad on a daily basis when you position it correctly. There are guys like Mack Michaels of Maverick Money Makers and Mark Ling of Affilorama who are making in excess of $171,168.06 per month!

The almost scary thing is that they a just a couple of the best known guys, there are hordes of others also making decent money that we never hear from. Mark Ling said in a recent webinar that the CEO of Clickbank told him that their top 10 affiliates make more money than their top 10 product producers, isn’t that amazing?

But to get back to the question of “Affiliate marketing, how quickly can one start making money?”

The answer is almost immediately, you can go from choosing a product, to making a sale virtually the moment that you start promoting that link somewhere e.g. putting it in the sig file of your favorite forum. Somebody sees it, clicks on it, get’s redirected to a sales page, likes what they see and click on buy, walla, you’ve just earned commission, neat isn’t it?

With affiliate marketing you don’t need your own website, I would recommend you get your own domain, though. I will look a lot more professional and you’ll make more sales than with an ugly affiliate link. It is true you can start making money virtually immediately in affiliate marketing and then on top of that it is free, no need to pay anyone to be an affiliate.

Imagine, you are in need of some extra cash or you need a new career in a hurry, an expensive franchise is not an option, what do you do? Affiliate marketing, it is the least expensive most powerful business model you could wish Linden I’m an ex-network marketer and I can guarantee you affiliate marketing is a million times more pleasant to do, the idea of a 100% online business, no phone calls, no customer complaints is pure bliss.

I trust I answered your question, you can earn money from day one and go onto build a million dollar business, else if you wish take home a couple of hundred every month, it’s up to you, it is the only business I’ll ever attempt to teach my mother.

Wedding Toasts - Keep ‘em Short and Sweet

Friday, June 26th, 2009

The idea of the wedding toasts is really just to encourage everyone to raise their glasses and offer the newlyweds best wishes for their new life together.

However, many people seem to use wedding toasts as an excuse to give a wedding speech and don’t keep to the unwritten rule of delivering short and sweet wedding toasts.

The tradition is to have the best man perform the official wedding toasts but as the evening progresses >Script> can be hijacked by almost anyone who has consumed enough Dutch courage to stand up and take centre stage!

As with the wedding speeches the key to wedding toasts is to have them at the beginning of the meal, rather than the end.

This may not be everyone’s idea of the appropriate timing for the wedding toasts but I think it is perfect and less likely to end up in a stream of glass clinking and raising that inevitably happens later in the evening.

To be perfectly honest, I am extremely shy and the thought of having endless wedding toasts is extremely embarrassing. I’d rather have one simple glass raising session and be given best wishes by everyone in one go rather than endure numerous wedding toasts — but that’s just me!

Cat Scratch Disease - The Symptoms of Infection

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Do you need a cheap, healthy alternative to used car donations bought kitten food to help wean your kittens off their mother’s milk and transition them to traditional canned kitten food? More than likely, they have shown little interest in regular canned food, preferring the milk to anything you might put in their bowl. Dry food will also be too hard on their developing teeth. The best option would be to start them on a food that reminds them of what they prefer, but can be mixed with traditional wet food to help transition them over. This recipe is simple to make, and kittens find it delicious.

Bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil, then remove the pan from the heat and mix in one envelope of unflavored gelatin. Be sure to mix thoroughly, and do not boil the gelatin. If the water tastes bad or has a heavy chlorine taste when it comes out of the tap, consider using filtered water instead.

Pour this mixture into a blender along with half of a 12 ounce can of goat’s milk. Blend just long enough to combine thoroughly. Do not substitute cow’s milk because cats tend to be lactose intolerant. Using cow’s milk can lead to discomfort, diarrhea, and worse if fed to kittens.

Add the following ingredients one at a time. After each addition, blend briefly to combine before moving on to the next. You will want to use the lowest setting to avoid overmixing. Add: 3 tbsp full fat yogurt, 3 tbsp real mayonnaise, 3 tsp light corn syrup, and 1 raw egg yolk. Concerning the egg yolk, raw eggs carry a small risk of salmonella poisoning. To eliminate any risk of accidentally passing this on to your kittens, use eggs that have been pasteurized in their shells.

You can serve the completed homemade kitten food the way it is, or you can store it for use later. To store for later usage, cover the mixture tightly in a small container. You can store it in the refrigerator for up to ten days or in your freezer for up to three months.

If you are going to use food that you have prepared in advance, you will want to warm it up before serving, especially if it is coming from the refrigerator or freezer. Cold food causes severe stomach upset in kittens. Warming it up will also make it more aromatic, and thus more appetizing to the kittens.Cat scratch disease is a bacterial infection that originates from the bacteria present in cat saliva. It is usually transmitted to humans through licking, biting, or scratching, hence the name. You do not actually have to be scratched or bitten, as most people who suffer the condition do not recall being bitten or scratched. It is not a severe condition, but care must be taken if the person in question is elderly, very young, or has a weakened immune system. The symptoms of cat scratch disease, which will be discussed below, usually form anywhere from a few days to a week after infection.

Check the area surrounding any visible wounds that may have been caused by the cat. If it is due to physical injury, this would be the point where the person was scratched or bitten. If the person is suffering from cat scratch disease, the wound will be very slow to heal. There will also be an area of redness and swelling around the point of injury that does not go away for several days.

Determine whether or not there is any swelling in the lymph nodes near this area. This will be the primary symptom that you will want to look for, and is usually the one that people notice first. If the swelling is accompanied by severe pain, or if it does not go away after two weeks, seek medical attention.

Check for fever. As with any bacterial infection, fever will most likely be present.

Determine whether there are any signs of pain. People will generally report a nonspecific sense of overall discomfort or malaise that seems to hang on. It is also usually accompanied by a prolonged fatigue, lack of energy, and lack of motivation to do much. Headache is also very common.

Check for less common symptoms that may be present. They include: sore throat, weight loss, and lack of appetite. The unfortunate truth about these symptoms is that they are common to quite a few different conditions, so no diagnosis can be based on their presence alone.

It is difficult for a person without medical training to diagnose cat scratch disease on their own, but in most cases, it will not be a cause for concern. Most people with normal immune systems will recover quickly with no treatment. If the person is very young, old, or is suffering from another condition that weakens the immune system, antibiotics may be recommended in order to clear up the infection.

Kill All Parents - The Greatest Superhero Comic Book Ever!

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

I just finished reading “Kill All Parents” by Mark Andrew Smith on Image Comics and it it the greatest and funniest Superhero comic book story I have ever read. The writer, Mark Andrew Smith car insurance lady a genius and the art by Marcelo Di Chiara and his colorist Russ Lowery is awesome. I have to admit, I bought this comic book just for the title. I knew it had to be good! I’m really surprised that as far as I know this title hasn’t been used before. Wow, comic books sure have changed since I was a kid in the 60’s!

Imagine if “Scream” was a comic book with Superheroes instead of a movie. That’s what “Kill All Parents Is”. Somehow Mark Andrew Smith totally manages to satirize every Superhero comic stereotype with the kitchen sink thrown that even non-comic book readers know! “Kill All Parents” is both serious and hilarious at the same time. Comic book fans will love it and it won’t be lost and go over the heads of non-comic book fans.

The story is total genius and is something that’s been so in front of our faces forever about Superheroes yet most people somehow were never aware of! I don’t want to reveal the plot because it would be like “The Crying Game” if you knew the surprise in advance!

Apparently Mark Andrew Smith has only been writing comic books for a short time. He has the potential to be another Garth Ennis, to me the greatest book comic book writer on the planet and “Kill Your Parents” deserves an Eisner Award, the comic book equivalent to an Oscar (in case your not a comic book fan). I hope this comic book is made into a movie. It has the potential to be everything that “Superhero Movie” was not.

You Can’t Putt Good If You Are Playing Golf With Your Putter

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Drive for show, putt for dough. We’ve all heard it before, and it is true. But most golfers fail to madmoney com that short putting is fundamentally different from a tee shot. It is an entirely different game, with different objectives.

Failure to recognize the difference and make the appropriate adjustments, both physically and mentally, make a short putting a nightmare for many golfers. Especially the weekend player that can’t get regular practice.

When you tee up your golf ball, your objective is to hit the ball straight and along a predetermined line. The same is true for an iron approach to the green. On these shots, there is a comparatively large margin of error. You don’t need to hit a specific spot in the fairway or on the green, but a general area.

Distance also provides a large margin of error on full shots. Your range in the fairway is nearly infinite as far as distance. Even on an approach shot, a 10 yard error can still leave you with a 30 foot putt and a successful shot.

It is enough on the full swing to hit a general area and not specifically defined target. So it is enough to line up on a general line and try to hit the ball straight by making a good swing.

The problems for a lot of golfer start when they get on the green and try to make a stroke that hit’s the ball straight down an imaginary line. They are basically trying to do the same thing they do on the tee. It is hard enough to hit a longer shot straight to a general area. But it is even harder to hit the ball straight with a shorter putt when a general area is not good enough.

When you get within 10 feet or so of the hole, your goal is no longer to hit a general area, but a specific target. But most golfers do the same thing they do on the tee. Line up and try to hit the ball straight where the club is aiming.

Short putting is a target game. It is a far easier thing to hit a target with a golf ball and a putter than it is to line up the putter and try to hit the ball straight.

Let me show you the unknown fundamental of putting that makes short putts a sure thing by taking advantage of your natural targeting instincts. You will be amazed at how easy putting really is.

Joust for the Arcade Review

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Joust was by far one of the simplest and easiest games Kentucky personal injury attorneys master; you had to simply learn to knock other players from their flying ostrich and avoid falling into a auto insurance in Alaska pit yourself. The challenges progressed as you knocked more opponents down and more land disappeared forcing you to keep your ostrich in the air ever longer while fighting car insurance Texas onslaught of ever more cunning opponents.

Of course your skills increase, as the land changes locations and the opponents start personal injury lawyer Oakland more frequently and even faster than ever before. You had both single and two player mode which made it fun to play as a team versus just against one another.

Normally when in two player mode it was important to keep your partner alive as well, as they helped in those moments against overwhelming odds. Overall the initial rating was very simple for the game, but as things increased you had better be ready for a challenge. The opponents which normally started at two would increase in number and their level of aggressiveness. I don’t know of many people who ever finished the game (actually completed the game), everyone got finished at some point though. You did earn extra lives as you completed certain levels and as you gathered bonus material.

You did need to avoid the creatures other than the knights as they would finish off both you and the opponents. Overall it was a lot of fun, and was often a good way to waste a little money on a discount Prozac afternoon. It gave you a place to hang out with your friends and play games in either single or two player mode.

Making Your Voicemail Work For You

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Sometimes, you just can’t answer your phone - thank goodness for voicemail - but is your voicemail really working for you? Here are a few tips auto insurance in Colorado help you get the most out generic tadalifil your office phone’s voicemail system.

Tip #1: Call yourself and experience what your callers hear.

So many problems can be corrected by simply listening to how your voicemail sounds to callers. Ask yourself, “is this what I want my callers to hear?”

Tip #2: Recording your name means just that: recording your name.

Your name is not your greeting. When the voicemail system prompts you to record your name and you record it as, “Hello, this is Mary Jones,” your callers will hear the voicemail say something to the affect of, “Please hold while I transfer your call to, ‘hello this is Mary Jones.’” If you take the advice of Tip #1, you’ll be able identify this and similar problems right away.

Tip #3: Know your voicemail’s options.

Once the call is transferred, your greeting will play. Here is where you can tell your caller what auto insurance in Missouri options are. Sure, they can leave a message for you but what if you want to give your callers more options than that? If you can give callers another avenue to reach someone who can help them, by all means, give them the option! If you’re not there to take the call, maybe someone else can.

Some more sophisticated systems will allow you to record multiple greetings which play based on time of day, holiday or vacation schedule or even based on your caller’s Caller ID. Personalized greetings like, “hello Mr. Jones, thank you for your call. Please leave me a message at the tone…” can go a long way in making your customers and contacts feel special. Check with your friendly neighborhood office telephone vendor for instructions on what your voicemail options are or consult your manual.

Tip #4: Voicemail isn’t just for leaving messages anymore.

Maybe you’d like your voicemail to take your calls while you do your work or maybe you want to be available even while away from your desk. become available even while you’re away. One way to do this is by giving your callers options to be in touch with you personally. Many modern voicemail systems feature the ability to transfer callers to an off-site destination. If you let your callers know that they’re welcome to, “…please leave a message at the tone or, if this is urgent, please press 3 to be transferred directly to me.” The call would then be transferred to a pre-programmed outside number. This could be your cell phone or, if your’re a work-from-home type, your home office number. (Again, consult your voicemail manual or check with your phone vendor for instructions on how to program external forwarding from voicemail.)

In the above example, you’re giving the caller a way to reach you without giving out your cell phone number. This allows your callers more ways to be in touch with you without asking them to hang up and dial another number. Better yet, you don’t have to reveal your private numbers to them if they’re being forwarded to you by the voicemail system.

Tip #5: Be specific about how you’d like messages left.

It’s your voicemail box; shouldn’t you be able to request the format in which you’d like your messages left? Greetings that are brief and polite are more likely to elicit a concise and business-like message than one that goes on about where you might be or when you usually take your lunch break.

Tip #6: Know your limit.

Almost all voicemail systems have a recording time limit. There are three reasons for this. 1.) to conserve space on your system, 2.) to force long-winded callers to re-record their message in a way that is more respectful of your time, and 3.) to finally cut off that caller who didn’t hang up properly after finishing his message.

By following these few tips, you should find that your voicemail actually works for you.
